FAQs:
What is Ocean Grown Fish & Kelp Combo? A certified-organic, cold-processed blend of hydrolysed fish and Australian kelp (seaweed). It feeds plants and soil biology with NPK 2.5-0.6-0.5 plus amino acids, vitamins and trace elements.
What makes Ocean Grown Fish & Kelp Combo different from regular fish emulsion? It’s hydrolysed (enzyme-processed at low temps), so more nutrients and amino acids are preserved and the odour is far lower than boiled fish emulsions. Translation: better plant response, less stink.
Does Ocean Grown Fish & Kelp Combo smell? Low-odour, but it’s still made from fish + kelp—so expect a faint “ocean” smell. Most people find it fine indoors if you dilute properly and don’t over-spray. A quick water-in or foliar wipe-down kills any lingering whiff.
What’s the NPK? 2.5 – 0.6 – 0.5.
Is Ocean Grown Fish & Kelp Combo actually organic? Yes—produced under certified-organic conditions and cold-processed, with zero heavy metals or contaminants reported by the manufacturer.
What’s in the Ocean Grown Fish & Kelp Combo exactly? 100% hydrolysed fish + Australian kelp. No fillers.
Can I use Ocean Grown Fish & Kelp Combo on indoor plants? Absolutely. It’s low-odour and gentle when diluted. Start at 3 ml per litre for routine watering or 1 ml per litre as a foliar.
Safe for seedlings? Yes—use 1–2 ml per litre. It’s a mild, balanced feed that encourages early root growth and resilience.
How about for transplants or stressed plants? Use 3–5 ml per litre at transplant to reduce shock. Don’t apply to severely stressed or underwatered plants—rehydrate first, then feed.
Can I foliar spray Ocean Grown Fish & Kelp Combo? Yep. 1 ml per litre as a foliar. Spray to runoff on the underside of leaves, ideally at lights-off or in the cool of the morning/evening.
How often should I use Ocean Grown Fish & Kelp Combo? General guide: every 1–2 weeks in active growth; monthly in winter/dormancy. Heavy feeders can handle weekly. Always watch the plant and adjust.
Does Ocean Grown Fish & Kelp Combo help with flavour, brix, or nutrient density? Yes—fish hydrolysate + kelp amino acids and natural growth compounds (like cytokinins) are known to improve flavour, aroma and overall nutrient density when used consistently.
Will Ocean Grown Fish & Kelp Combo boost soil life? That’s the point. It feeds microbes and earthworms, improves soil structure, and helps unlock nutrients already in the soil.
Is Ocean Grown Fish & Kelp Combo okay for hydroponics and coco? Yes—dose 3–5 ml per litre in hydro or coco. Expect some biofilm in organic systems; run a filter sock where possible and keep lines clean with regular flushes.
Will Ocean Grown Fish & Kelp Combo clog sprayers or drip lines? It’s fine through most sprayers when diluted and strained. If you’re running very fine nozzles/drippers, pre-mix thoroughly, strain if needed, and flush lines with plain water after use.
Can I mix Ocean Grown Fish & Kelp Combo with other nutrients? Plays well with most organic and mineral feeds. Avoid mixing into highly alkaline concentrates or thick calcium products in the same jug—add to the tank last, with good agitation. If using microbial products, dechlorinate tap water first.
Do I need to pH-adjust? Soil and potting mixes usually buffer it well. For hydro/coco and foliar, aim for your normal target ranges after mixing (e.g., hydro 5.6–6.2; foliar ~5.8–6.2).
Recommended water quality? Dechlorinated or tank/rain water is ideal. If using tap water, let it stand or use a dechlorinator so you don’t knock back beneficial microbes.
Can I use Ocean Grown Fish & Kelp Combo with Ocean Grown Deep Sea Sugar & Kelp? Yes—the combo is excellent. Fish & Kelp provides macro + amino acids; Deep Sea Sugar & Kelp adds carbohydrates and extra kelp actives. Alternate weekly or half-dose both together.
Good for lawns and fruit trees? Perfect—apply 3–5 ml per litre. Hose-on sprayers make quick work of big areas. Water in after application.
Okay for native Australian plants (phosphorus-sensitive)? At label rates, the low P (0.6) makes it generally safe for most natives. Always test on a small area first and go lighter/further apart on very P-sensitive species.
Will Ocean Grown Fish & Kelp Combo burn my plants? Not when diluted properly. If you’ve been under-feeding, start on the low end and build up. Don’t apply in heat over 30 °C or to wilted plants.
Can I use Ocean Grown Fish & Kelp Combo during flowering/fruiting? Yes. It’s balanced and gentle—great for supporting fruit set, flavour, and plant health. Keep foliar sprays off open flowers; feed at the root instead.
Is Ocean Grown Fish & Kelp Combo safe for pets and kids? Store out of reach, keep the cap tight, and don’t leave mixed solution around. If a pet eats the concentrate, they may get an upset tummy—call your vet for advice. Water products in and let surfaces dry before allowing pets/kids back on lawns.
What’s the shelf life? Unopened: long. Once opened: best within 12 months if kept sealed, cool and dark. If a bottle swells, hisses, or smells “off” beyond normal, discard it.
How should I store Ocean Grown Fish & Kelp Combo? Cool, dark place. Keep the cap snug. Don’t leave diluted mix sitting for days—make what you’ll use that session.
Can I use Ocean Grown Fish & Kelp Combo in automatic watering systems? Yes—at 3–5 ml per litre. Use a filter, agitate your reservoir, and plan routine line flushes to manage organic films.
Does Ocean Grown Fish & Kelp Combo stain or leave residue? It can leave a light organic tint. Foliar: wipe overspray off glass/benches. Hydro: expect a light tea-colour to the solution—that’s normal with organic inputs.
Will Ocean Grown Fish & Kelp Combo attract pests or fungi? Feeding healthy plants tends to improve resilience. As with any fish product, don’t spill concentrate on benches or pots; rinse any splashes. Foliar applications should be done in good airflow; avoid spraying before long, humid nights.
Can I combine Ocean Grown Fish & Kelp Combo with microbial inoculants or compost teas? Yes—great synergy. Add Fish & Kelp after the tea is brewed (don’t brew it with molasses + fish together unless you know your process). Use promptly.
What about mixing order? Water first → other nutrients → Fish & Kelp last while stirring → check pH. Foliar mixes should be well-strained.
Can I use Ocean Grown Fish & Kelp Combo in aquaponics? Typically not recommended directly into fish systems—the nutrients are designed for plants, not aquarium fish. If you experiment, isolate plants from fish water volume and proceed very cautiously.
What temperatures are best for application? Apply in the cool of the day. Avoid over 30 °C, very windy conditions, or full sun foliar sprays.
How long until I see results? Usually within 3–7 days you’ll notice perkier growth and better colour. Full improvements in soil structure and flavour come with consistent use over weeks.
How much solution does a bottle make? Rough guide: – 500 ml bottle → ~500 L at 1 ml/L; ~250 L at 2 ml/L; ~166 L at 3 ml/L; ~100 L at 5 ml/L – 1 L bottle → ~1000 L at 1 ml/L; ~500 L at 2 ml/L; ~333 L at 3 ml/L; ~200 L at 5 ml/L – 5 L bottle → ~5000 L at 1 ml/L; ~2500 L at 2 ml/L; ~1667 L at 3 ml/L; ~1000 L at 5 ml/L.
Can I use Ocean Grown Fish & Kelp Combo with houseplant LECA/pon? Yes—treat it like a hydro system: 3 ml per litre in the reservoir and refresh regularly. Rinse media occasionally to prevent buildup.
Is Ocean Grown Fish & Kelp Combo safe on edibles and herbs? Yes—ideal for veggies, fruit, and herbs. Rinse edible leaves if you foliar spray.
Can I bottom-water with Ocean Grown Fish & Kelp Combo? Yep. Mix at your usual rate and let pots wick for ~15–30 minutes, then drain any excess.
Does Ocean Grown Fish & Kelp Combo raise EC a lot? It contributes modest EC compared with salt-based nutrients. Dose to plant response rather than chasing a specific EC number in organic systems.
Can I use Ocean Grown Fish & Kelp Combo alongside synthetic nutrients? You can. Many growers run a “hybrid” program—organics for biology and quality; minerals for precision. Just avoid over-feeding—total strength still matters.
Any time I should NOT use the Ocean Grown Fish & Kelp Combo? Skip right before a hard frost, during heatwaves, or on plants that are severely underwatered. Don’t spray flowers you’re about to harvest.
Anything else to pair Ocean Grown Fish & Kelp Combo with? Pair with Ocean Grown Deep Sea Sugar & Kelp or quality composts/biostimulants for even better soil structure, flavour, and resilience.
Who is the Ocean Grown Fish & Kelp Combo for? Anyone chasing healthier plants, better flavour/aroma, and a more alive soil—from houseplant parents to veggie and fruit growers, lawns, natives, and hydro/coco folks who want organic benefits without the usual fishy drama.

Have been using a high grade potting mix plants have not been happy slow growth and just not looking healthy. So I took them out of pots removed about a third of the old dirt from the bottom and anything that fell off the top and sides cleaned out the pot put turbo dirt in the bottom put a scoop of roids on the bottom and a tad more turbo dirt over it and sprinkled some transplant powder on the soil at about a third of the way up refilling with turbo dirt and then sprinkled another scope of root roids and some powder down the sides topped up with turbo dirt and a slight top dress and just before the top dress another scope of root roids and then covered with about 20 mm more turbo 2 lts of water. I could see a difference in 2 days could see a darker green coming up through the leaves in a week they where no longer sick and now 2 weeks later it’s like a different garden I can see daily grow. Can’t believe how much difference turbo dirt made thanks for your help.
