Watch our video below & check our our 5 star reviews!

  • Root Roids Granules are the perfect partner to give your garden a boost of probiotic & symbiotic fungi to increase disease resistance, root development, and overall plant vigor. This is Australia's answer to Mykos!
  • Compared to regular inoculants, Root Roids Granules are easy to disperse and are completely dust-free. Gardeners can enjoy less time mixing up liquid inoculants and simply broadcast directly to their garden, or scratch into the surface of their existing containers. Our specialized granule carrier also acts as a long-term home for other beneficial bacteria, along with the ability to hold excess nutrients in the root zone.
  • Outcompete & eliminate detrimental organisms using a powerful fungus that lives locally on plant roots. This fungus known as Mycorrhizae will live in the rootzone transferring nutrients and water to the plant in a mutual exchange.
  • Designed to be incorporated into new & existing potting soils, or broadcast with your favorite fertilizer blend like Dr Greenthumbs GreenSpace Slow Release prills.

30 Day Money Back Guarantee! If you are not satisfied with the product, return it to us with at least 50% of its contents for a full refund of your product price!

    Frequently Asked Questions

Root Roids Granular is a dust-free mycorrhizal inoculant you mix into the root zone or with your favourite fertiliser blend. The beneficial fungi team up with your roots to expand root surface area, boost nutrient and water uptake, and help plants handle stress better. It’s basically a probiotic for roots.

Beneficial mycorrhizal fungi on a natural carrier. No harsh salts or “hot” NPK—just living biology that partners with your plant.

Yep. It’s a natural microbe product and plays nicely in both organic and conventional gardens.

No. It’s biology, not a synthetic fertilizer. You can’t “burn” roots with it.

Best time is at transplant. You can also top-dress established plants and mix it into new soil blends any time you’re refreshing pots or beds.

Sprinkle 1–2 scoops directly in the hole or around the root ball, then backfill and water in. Bigger plants can take 3–4 scoops without drama.

Scratch 1–2 scoops into the top few centimetres of soil near the stem and water in. Try to get granules in contact with the root zone and not sitting exposed on top.

As a simple guide, around 50 g per 50 L of potting media for even coverage.

Absolutely. It’s gentle and great early on. Dust a pinch into the plug or lightly around the young root zone.

About once a month during active growth is a sweet spot. During slower periods, every 6–8 weeks is fine.

Not really. Extra won’t burn anything—it’s just wasteful. Stick to the suggested amounts for best value.

Yes. Root Roids improves uptake—it doesn’t replace your base nutrients. Keep feeding as usual.

Yep. It plays nicely with most nutrients, enzymes, and boosters. It’s designed to complement your program, not clash with it.

Not in any meaningful way. Mix nutrients and set pH as normal, then add Root Roids last and water in.

Works great in soil, coco, and compost mixes. Root Roids Granules shine when mixed with media or used as a topdress.

Faster establishment after transplant, chunkier root systems, stronger top growth, and better resilience under stress. Many growers notice a perk-up within 1–2 weeks.

Yes. Inoculating at transplant is one of the best ways to reduce shock and get plants moving fast.

A well-colonised root zone is more resilient. The beneficial fungi crowd out many nasties and support the plant’s natural defences.

Most will. A few plant groups don’t form mycorrhizal relationships (many brassicas, for example), but they’re the exception, not the rule.

Yes, when used as directed. It’s non-toxic and made for veggies, herbs, and fruit. Don’t ingest the product itself.

A little goes a long way—since you’re using a scoop or two per plant, one bag treats a lot of plants or multiple rounds of potting up. If you’re applying 10g per transplant, a 500g packet will inoculate 50 plants.

Store it sealed, cool, and dry and it stays effective for ages. Use within 12 months for best potency.

Keep it sealed and out of heat and direct sun. A cupboard or cool shed is ideal.

Absolutely. It’s happy in organic, mineral, or hybrid programs.

No, for granules the easiest route is dry application into the root zone or a quick top-dress. If you want a water-soluble option, try our original black Root Roids product.

Nope, just a mild earthy scent, no messy residues at all.

Great—this adds more diversity and ensures strong colonisation right where roots are growing.

They’re still awesome. Compost and mulch feed the soil food web and pair perfectly with Root Roids.

Yes. It reinforces colonisation throughout the expanding root zone.

Healthier mycorrhizal roots generally handle water stress better by improving access to moisture.

Both. Tents, greenhouses, balconies, raised beds—go for it.

Get the granules touching roots, don’t leave them exposed on the surface, and water in after applying.

Blue = dust-free granules for mixing into media or transplant holes (great “one-and-done”). Black = water-soluble powder for easy dosing via watering, especially handy for hydro or frequent teas.

Not necessarily. Pick the one that fits your routine. Some growers use granules at transplant and the powder later as an optional boost.

Indirectly, yes. Better roots and nutrient uptake usually mean stronger growth, healthier blooms, and a better finish.

Yep. It helps roots access what’s already in the media.

Whenever you’re transplanting or doing plant care. Avoid leaving granules baking in sun—cover them and water in.

Not required, but wash hands after use like you would with any garden product.

No worries—top-dress around the stem and water in. New roots will still grow through the treated zone.

Yes. More diverse biology is generally beneficial, and Root Roids plays nicely with teas and biologicals.

It won’t add missing nutrients, but it can help plants access what you’re feeding. Keep your base program steady.

Faster rebound after potting up, lush top growth, dense white roots at the next transplant, and plants that just look happier.

At transplant: 1–2 scoops in the hole. Established plants: 1–2 scoops top-dressed and watered in. New mixes: about 50 g per 50 L of media. Reapply monthly during vigorous growth.
