What is TriPart Micro – Soft Water and what does it do?
TriPart Micro – Soft Water is the micronutrient base of Terra Aquatica’s 3-part system. It delivers essential trace elements (like iron, zinc, and manganese), plus nitrogen and potassium (5-0-1), supporting healthy growth through the entire plant cycle. It’s not a standalone fertiliser—combine with TriPart Grow and Bloom for full nutrition.
What does “Soft Water” mean and how do I know if it’s right for me?
“Soft Water” means this version is balanced for low-calcium water sources like RO or soft tap water. If your calcium is under ~70 ppm, use this version. Using it with hard water can lead to nutrient imbalance. When in doubt, test your water or blend RO and tap water for better control.
Is this the same as FloraMicro Soft Water?
Yes. Terra Aquatica is the rebranded version of General Hydroponics’ FloraMicro. The formula and performance are the same—just updated branding and EU-based production.
Can I use TriPart Micro without Grow and Bloom?
Not recommended. Micro isn’t a complete fertiliser on its own—it’s designed to be used with Grow and Bloom so your plant gets full macro + micro nutrition. The system gives you better control as plants shift from veg to bloom.
Which growing media work with TriPart Micro – Soft Water?
It works great in hydroponics (DWC, NFT, drip, etc.), coco coir, and soil. Coco needs regular runoff to prevent salt buildup, and soil typically requires lighter feeding. Always adjust for your medium and environment.
How do I mix TriPart Micro – Soft Water correctly?
Always add Micro to water first, then Grow, then Bloom—stirring between each. Never mix concentrates together directly. If using silica, add it to water before everything else. Shake bottles before use for best results.
Do I need to pH my water when using TriPart Micro?
Yes. In hydro and coco, maintaining stable pH is essential. Aim for pH 5.8–6.2 depending on your setup. Use a TDS/EC meter to avoid overfeeding, especially if using RO or blending water types.
Do I still need Cal-Mag with TriPart Micro – Soft Water?
Possibly. While Micro contributes some calcium, many growers using RO water still supplement with Cal-Mag—just don’t overload. Too much calcium can cause lockouts. Monitor plant response and adjust accordingly.
Can TriPart Micro fix or prevent deficiencies?
Yes, it helps prevent micronutrient issues like iron chlorosis or weird leaf spotting. If you see symptoms and your pH is correct, TriPart Micro often resolves them. But if lockout or poor root health is the cause, address that first.
What are signs I’m overfeeding or underfeeding with TriPart?
Overfeeding signs: burnt tips, dark clawing leaves, and high runoff EC. Underfeeding signs: pale growth, weak stems, and stalled development. Use EC monitoring and adjust feeding gradually based on plant feedback.
Is TriPart Micro – Soft Water beginner-friendly?
Yes. It’s straightforward if you follow the basics: use the correct version for your water, mix in the right order, and monitor pH and EC. Most mistakes come from mixing concentrates together or pushing EC too high too soon.
Can I use TriPart Micro with other nutrient brands?
You can, but it’s optimized for use with TriPart Grow and Bloom. Mixing brands can work, but avoid doubling up on the same nutrient types—it’s easy to cause lockouts if you're not careful.
Can I use TriPart Micro in recirculating or drain-to-waste systems?
Absolutely. It performs well in DWC, drip, and drain-to-waste coco. Just monitor your reservoir for pH and EC drift, and keep everything clean to prevent clogs or biofilm issues over time.
Does TriPart Micro go bad or clog lines?
If stored sealed, upright, and out of extreme temperatures, it keeps well. Shake before use to prevent settling. It’s designed to be clean, but poor mixing or dirty water can still clog small lines over time.
Is TriPart Micro safe to handle?
It’s safe when used properly. Avoid contact with eyes, don’t ingest, and wash your hands after mixing. Store away from pets and children. Clean up spills to prevent residue on surfaces.
