This coupled with our 100% organic nutrients and beneficial bacteria, you won't have to worry about feeding your plants during your entire growth.

Ingredients

Soil - Minimum 6 month aged compost (a mixture of cow, mushroom, turkey & horse manure), worm castings, peat moss, perlite & zeolite

Nutrients - Bone meal, blood meal, guano, potash, soy meal, alfalfa meal, coconut meal, neem meal, kelp meal, malted barley, crustacean blend, dolomite, gypsum, volcanic rock dust, palagonite, azomite, beneficial bacteria + mycorrhizae & humic acid.

How To Use

100% suitable for seed raising your plants. (Varieties with known nutrient issues should be treated accordingly)

As the name suggests, TURBODIRT water only soil contains all the nutrients required to grow and finish your plants within a 9-10 week cycle (a true Super Soil). This eliminates the need for expensive nutrient regimes. As all the nutrition your plants will require is already built into the soil, all you need to focus on is maintaining a strong population of beneficial bacteria.

To successfully replenish and nurture these bacteria simply inoculate your soil as per the packet directions with our Root Roids and Fruit Roids. By doing so you deliver millions of beneficial bacteria & fungi along with vital enzymes and growth promoters, specific to your growth period. This will help your plants withstand adverse conditions & stress from drought, and also suppress any pathogens that might be introduced to your growing area.

We suggest maintaining an even moisture within your growing containers for best results (moist, not wet). Constant wet and dry fluctuations can have adverse effects on your root's ability to uptake nutrients as it requires. The easiest approach for gardeners is to water your soil with a low-pressure stream provided by a "pump sprayer pack". These units are inexpensive and easy to clean. Most importantly they deliver your water evenly across the surface of the soil as you move the jet back and forth. Alternatively, for larger gardens, automatic gravity-fed systems such as the well-known Blumats, work extremely well. Other styles of growing such as Self Irrigated Planters and Earth Boxes, also have tremendous results with our TurboDirt Water Only Soil.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is Dr Greenthumbs TurboDirt (BULK 560L) and what's in it?

TurboDirt is a 100% organic “water-only” living soil designed for full-cycle growing. It includes compost, worm castings, peat moss, perlite, zeolite, organic amendments, beneficial microbes, and mycorrhizae. You get 560L total, packaged as 8 × 70L bags.

Is TurboDirt ready to use straight out of the bag?

Yes—no composting, pre-mixing, or conditioning needed. You can transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings directly. It’s suitable for indoor and outdoor grows, edibles, clones, and raised beds, though lighter mixes are sometimes preferred for early seedlings.

Do I need to feed my plants when using TurboDirt?

Usually not. TurboDirt is pre-loaded with enough nutrition to support most plants through a full cycle. Some heavy feeders or long veg runs may benefit from top-dressing or light organic supplements late in the grow.

How should I water TurboDirt?

Keep the soil evenly moist—not soaked, not bone dry. Use gentle watering methods like a pump sprayer or slow pour. Systems like Blumats, Earthboxes, or Autopots can work well if moisture is balanced correctly.

Do I need to adjust pH when using TurboDirt?

TurboDirt is forgiving, but extreme pH levels can still affect uptake. Most growers use dechlorinated tap water or rainwater. If your tap water is very hard or chlorinated, filtering or letting it sit before use is ideal.

Does TurboDirt have good drainage and structure?

Yes—it balances water retention and airflow with ingredients like perlite, peat moss, and compost. Zeolite adds nutrient buffering. You can adjust aeration by adding extra perlite if needed for your environment.

How should I store leftover TurboDirt?

Keep unused soil sealed, dry, and out of direct sun. If it dries out, rehydrate slowly. If it gets waterlogged and smells sour, spread it out to dry and restore airflow before reuse.

Can TurboDirt attract fungus gnats?

Like all rich organic soils, gnats can appear if the surface stays constantly wet. Let the top few centimeters dry between waterings, improve airflow, and consider a mineral top layer to deter them.

Should I use Root Roids or Fruit Roids with TurboDirt?

They’re optional but helpful. Root Roids support root establishment early on, while Fruit Roids help during flowering. Both boost soil biology and plant resilience, especially in longer runs or demanding conditions.

Can I reuse TurboDirt after harvest?

Yes—reuse is part of its value. You can go no-till (leave soil in pot and replant) or remix it with new compost, dry amendments, and microbes. With proper care, multiple cycles are achievable.

Does TurboDirt work for autos and long veg plants?

Yes, but timing matters. Autos benefit from balanced nutrition early. Longer veg periods or heavy fruiting plants may require a top-dress mid-cycle to keep up with demand.

What pot size should I use with TurboDirt?

Larger pots are better for moisture and nutrient buffering. Small containers can dry out or deplete faster, which reduces the effectiveness of the “water-only” approach.

Is TurboDirt safe to use around kids and pets?

Yes—it’s made from natural, organic ingredients. Standard garden safety still applies: don’t ingest it, avoid breathing dust, and wash hands after handling.

What’s the biggest mistake people make with TurboDirt?

Overwatering. “Water-only” doesn’t mean constant soaking. Keep moisture steady, allow the surface to dry slightly between waterings, and only feed if plants show real signs of deficiency.
