What is Go & Grow, and when should I use it?
Go & Grow is an organic dry fertiliser designed for the vegetative stage of plant growth. It helps boost leafy growth, root development, and soil biology. Use it during active growth phases; for flowering and fruiting, pair it with Bud & Bloom for full-cycle support.
What ingredients are in Go & Grow?
It includes natural ingredients like alfalfa, neem, kelp, coconut and soy meals, malted barley, rock dust, gypsum, lime, potash, and seabird guano. It's not vegan due to the guano, but it's fully organic and salt-free.
What kinds of plants can I use Go & Grow on?
Go & Grow is suitable for veggies, herbs, ornamentals, lawns, tropicals, cacti, succulents, and houseplants. It’s safe for edible plants—just apply to the soil and wash produce before eating. Use lighter rates for delicate or slow-growing varieties.
Is Go & Grow safe for indoor use, pets, and kids?
Yes—with care. It has a mild earthy smell and, like any fertiliser, should be stored securely and kept out of reach. Indoors, water it in well and allow the top layer of soil to dry slightly between waterings to avoid pests like fungus gnats.
How do I apply Go & Grow to soil or pots?
Mix ¼–½ cup into every 30L of fresh soil, or use a heaped tablespoon to top-dress a 25L pot. For garden beds, apply 1–2 cups per square metre. Scratch it into the topsoil and water well after applying.
How often should I reapply Go & Grow?
Reapply every 4–8 weeks during active growth. Fast-growing or hungry plants may benefit from more frequent feeding. In colder or slower months, reduce the dose and frequency accordingly to avoid overfeeding.
Can Go & Grow burn my plants?
It’s milder than synthetic fertilisers, but overuse can still cause tip burn or slowed growth. Start light and watch your plants—too much nutrition can backfire. Yellowing leaves may improve, but consider watering, light, and roots too.
Can I make a compost tea with Go & Grow?
Yes. Mix 1 tablespoon per 5L of water and aerate or stir for 24 hours. Use it immediately as a soil drench. Strain well if using a sprayer, and dechlorinate your water if you're aiming to boost microbes.
Does Go & Grow help soil health and microbes?
Definitely. It feeds beneficial microbes and pairs well with compost, worm castings, and mycorrhizal fungi. It's especially helpful for reviving tired soil or supporting a living soil system.
Can I use Go & Grow with other fertilisers or soil products?
Yes, but don’t overdo it. If you’re using strong liquids, compost, or hot soil, apply Go & Grow sparingly. It also works well alongside Bud & Bloom and TurboDirt for a full growth-to-flower routine.
Can I use Go & Grow in coco, hydroponics, or self-watering pots?
It's best for soil and soil-like media. In coco, use lightly and treat it like a soil hybrid. Avoid in hydro or inert media like LECA—it may clog systems and doesn’t dissolve fully. In self-watering pots, keep it in the soil layer, not the reservoir.
Is Go & Grow safe for seedlings and transplants?
Yes—just use low rates. Mix into backfill soil when transplanting to reduce shock, and avoid packing it directly around seedling roots. Let amended soil sit a few days if you want a gentler start.
How should I store Go & Grow?
Store it sealed, cool, and dry. The smell is earthy and organic. Clumping is fine if it stays dry—just break it up. If it smells off or moldy, it’s best to discard it and start fresh.
What sizes are available, and how long will it last?
It comes in 1.5kg and 4.5kg bags. A 1.5kg bag lasts ages for houseplants but goes faster in larger gardens. Use the product calculator for more accurate estimates based on your setup.
What’s the easiest way to use Go & Grow without overthinking it?
Mix it into potting soil at planting, then top-dress every 6–8 weeks. Add a mulch layer to support moisture and microbes. If plants need a boost, brew a tea. Avoid overwatering or piling it on—it works best with consistency, not excess.
