Diatomite is a sedimentary rock formed over millions of years by the fossils of ancient marine plants.
Today it is used as a grow medium for all types of gardening due to its large surface area and ability to retain moisture while being very free draining. It is slow to break down in soils and is used extensively in the cactus, succulent and bonsai trades.
Provides bioavailable silica to plants and will help keep temperatures even in growing containers, a big advantage for no till container gardeners and bonsai growers.
